SMS Consent & Messaging Program
MiFumigador · [email protected]
Opt-In Language
Customers encounter one of two opt-in moments depending on how they interact with the platform.
Before the verification code is sent, a required checkbox must be checked (unchecked by default). The send-code button is disabled until the box is checked.
"I agree to receive SMS messages from MiFumigador, including verification codes and service-related notifications regarding my lawn care requests. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase."
Checkbox is unchecked by default. The "Send Code" button remains disabled until the customer checks the box and enters their phone number.
After a customer logs in for the first time without a prior SMS consent record on file, a modal dialog is displayed before the account portal loads.
Title: "SMS Notifications"
"By using this portal you agree to receive service notifications via SMS from [Pest control tech's Company Name]. Message & data rates may apply."
"Reply STOP to opt out at any time."
Links to Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions are displayed below the body text.
Actions: "No Thanks" (decline) · "I Agree" (accept)
Inside the customer's account settings (Edit Contact dialog), a checkbox allows the customer to grant or revoke SMS consent at any time.
"I consent to receive service notifications via SMS"
Opt-Out Language
Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. They also receive the opt-out disclosure in:
- The opt-in checkbox text (flow A above)
- The consent dialog body text (flow B above)
- MiFumigador's Privacy Policy (Section 4) and Terms & Conditions (Section 3)
Standard STOP response sent by Twilio:
"You have been unsubscribed from all messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe."
Standard HELP response sent by Twilio:
"For help, contact [email protected] or visit mifumigador.app/contact."
OTP (One-Time Password) Flow
MiFumigador uses OTP codes to authenticate customers accessing their account portal (no passwords are stored).
- Channel selection. The customer chooses how to receive their code: SMS, WhatsApp, or Email.
- Consent checkpoint. If SMS or WhatsApp is selected, the opt-in checkbox (flow A) must be checked before the "Send Code" button activates.
- Code delivery. A 6-digit code is sent via Twilio to the customer's registered phone number (or email). The code expires after 10 minutes.
- Verification. The customer enters the 6-digit code. Successful entry opens the account portal. A "Remember me" option stores a session token in the browser so the customer is not prompted again on the same device.
- Resend. If the code was not received, the customer may tap "Resend code" to request a new one.
Sample OTP message
"Your MiFumigador verification code is 847213. This code expires in 10 minutes."
